Kathy Bugajsky
Letterer / From Chicago
Kathy A. Bugajsky is many things to many people including a Chicagoan, a college graduate with a film/video degree, a huge fan of Kevin Smith and Joss Whedon, a Catholic school survivor and so much more.
Since she moved out here back in 1997, she’s worked on a variety of different television shows for “The History Channel,” “A&E” and the now defunked “The Nashville Network.” She also worked on a few feature films, but they are really not worth mentioning. She now works for the Mouse in the legal department, although not “evil” division.
In 2001, she met Matt Filer through mutual friends while doing the most unimaginable thing, exercising. They quickly became friends despite protests from Filer. She met Justin Peniston the following year en route to the San Diego Comicon. It was there that she was exposed to the professional side of comics. She was hooked, but since she had no artistic tendencies what so ever and her English was her second language to wolf howling, she decided to get into lettering. After extensive brainwashing and hypnosis, Filer and Peniston agreed to let her take a crack at their first comic which is “Masque of the Dragon: Epiphany.”
Despite numerous interventions from friends, Bugajsky continues to delver deeper and deeper in comics, science fiction and all things considered pop culture and geeky. Her geekiness spiked to new levels when she was picked up by FanboyRadio.com to do a weekly column entitled “But You’re A Girl!” Her online presence is substantial and can be found lurking on several different message boards as well as reading the latest articles on when new X-Box games are being released.
Her current plans for world domination include continuing to letter until everyone realizes that it is a dying art form that anyone can do, writing her column and organizing an army to take over Canada.
